RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT

 

CYPRESS SHADE 

We are excited to partner with Acadiana’s own J.T. Meleck Distillery, located just down the road from the brewery, for our latest barrel-aged imperial stout. J.T. Meleck is the only distillery that handcrafts its spirits from 100% rice, which they grow on their family farm. They’ve been impressively producing high-quality and award-winning products since 2017. While their vodka became available right away, their rice whiskey required a much longer development, aging 5 years on American oak barrels before bottling. When we received all of the freshly emptied barrels from their inaugural whiskey batch, we knew we had to fill them with a very special stout.

Cypress Shade aged in J.T. Meleck’s original rice whiskey barrels for 2 years, allowing the smoky fragrances of toasted rice and almonds to coalesce with the 13% ABV stout base.  The extended barrel aging not only added gobs of flavor but also evaporated and thickened the beer, resulting in a viscous experience on par with the very best stouts we’ve ever produced.

 

 

 VANILLA CYPRESS SHADE 

Vanilla Cypress Shade is our decadent new imperial stout, Cypress Shade, but further aged atop a bed of Ecuadorian and Ugandan vanilla beans after spending two years in J.T. Meleck’s original rice whiskey barrels. VCS drinks sweeter than CS, with notes of apricots, plums, and cherries from the Ecuadorian beans, mocha undertones from the Ugandan beans, and clocks in at 13% ABV.

 

 

 SUPER BLOOM 

We took our floral fantasia of a favorite Parish IPA, double-dry hopped it, and boosted the ABV. Memorable for the vivid pink flower blossoms on the label, fans of Bloom will remember a flavor profile just as bright that still finishes super-soft. Extra helpings of our hand-selected Citra and Nugget hops complement one another for a deep citrus and stone fruit profile that’s just as balanced and drinkable as it is heady.

RELEASE DETAILS

Super Bloom, Cypress Shade, and Vanilla Cypress Shade will be available Friday 6/21 at 11am CDT in our Taproom and online for local pick-up or UPS Direct Shipping! Local pick-up begins at 11am and all UPS Direct Shipping orders will begin next week.

Super Bloom is also being shipped to all Parish distribution markets.

Super Bloom: $17 per 16oz 4pack cans.

Cypress Shade $22 per 500ml bottle.

Vanilla Cypress Shade: $25 per 500ml bottle.

If your beer is not picked up within a week of placing your order, your order will be canceled.

All canceled online orders will incur an 8% restocking fee.
