Decade One Week 3
We are closing out our Decade One celebration with a special barrel aged version of our Horus collab, and our 2 biggest, baddest beers to date!
We took our highest gravity collaboration stout with Horus Aged Ales and aged it for nearly a year in Ex-Bourbon Cherry Brandy and Widow Jane Double Oak barrels atop Tahitian vanilla beans. Blended and dosed with mounds of cacao nibs, Dutch cocoa, roasted almonds, cherry puree, and extra vanilla, Barrel Aged Cordial Cherry drinks like Bourbon infused chocolate cherry truffles. 12% ABV
In 2013, we released our flagship Double IPA, Ghost in the Machine. In late 2017, we doubled the hops to make DDH Ghost, a mind blowing, Citra hop experience. Now, in 2020 for our first decade anniversary, we are unleashing our biggest, most badass Ghost to end it all. We present to you Holy Ghost. Brewed with gobs of oats and raw wheat and completely dry hopped to saturation with equal amounts Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, and Citra Cryo, Holy Ghost is a mind-melting IPA encounter like none before. 11% ABV
Finally, introducing Decade One, a blend of double barrel aged imperial stouts and the culmination of ten years of obsessing over the brewing, aging, and adjuncting of well-made beer. Barrel aged for a year and then transferred again into freshly dumped spirits barrels to age additional months atop a blend of whole vanilla beans, Decade One is a showcase of the brands and techniques that have forged our barrel program.
From our initial brand, Maple Shade, we chose Maple Bourbon barrels that were racked into 13-year 1792 Bourbon barrels containing rich, buttery Madagascar vanilla beans. Inspired by Vanilla Shade and its intense aromatics, we combined New Riff Bourbon and Willet 4-year barrels and moved them into Elijah Craig 8-year and Willet 6-year barrels both containing Ugandan and Ecuadorian vanilla evoking a sugary, chocolate delight. Lastly, we paid homage to Caribbean Shade by the addition of Weller Bourbon and Four Roses OBSK barrels racked into Spiced Rum and Henry McKenna 8-year barrels. Both contained pounds of oily Tahitian vanilla beans joining the fresh spice and fruity notes of aged rum. 14% ABV
Release will be Saturday, December 12th.
Please come during your scheduled time slot. Pre-sale beer pick up will be in the building to the right of the Taproom. Make sure you have your order confirmation(s) with you. An order confirmation will be required for each order.
Day-of sales of Holy Ghost and Barrel Aged Cordial Cherry will begin at 10am out of the brewery. Limits will be determined Saturday. There will not be Decade One bottles available. There will be signage directing you where to go. ALL PICK UP ORDERS THAT ARE NOT RELEASE DAY BEER ORDERS will be picked up inside the Taproom. They will not be available to pick up in the pre-sale pick up line. Pre-sale pick up and day-of sales will end at 6pm.
If your beer is not picked up by 7pm Tuesday, December 15, your order will be cancelled.
The Taproom will be open from 11am-6pm. You can purchase beer and merchandise to-go, but Taproom seating for pours will be outdoors only in accordance with the Louisiana Governor’s orders. We will have 22 outside tables available (6 patio tables and 16 high top tables). These tables will ALL be available first come, first serve. There is a time limit of one hour per group per table.
